Is This You?

If any of these sound familiar, you're in the right place.

You manage a team or a department. You're responsible for a budget, and you sit in meetings where the numbers drive the decisions. You'd like to follow the conversation, and contribute to it.

You were promoted for what you do well. Then suddenly finance became part of the job. Nobody handed you a guide to reading a balance sheet.

You own or run a business. Your accountant sends reports, and you nod along. You'd rather understand what they're telling you and what to do about it.

You want to move up. Financial literacy is what separates good managers from strong leaders. It's how you build a business case that gets approved.

By the End, You'll Be Able To:

✓ Speak the language of finance and understand what your accounting department does, and why.

✓ Read the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows, and see how they connect.

✓ Understand liabilities, credit, and what to do when the bank says no.

✓ Manage cash flow, build cash flow projections, and create and monitor department budgets.

✓ Analyze costs, contribution margins, and breakeven points to support smarter decisions.

✓ Use financial ratios and benchmarking to assess performance, then present a strong business case.

Less nodding along. More leading the conversation..

Three Courses. One Clear Path.

Each course builds on the last, so you'll get the most out of them in this order.

Step 1: Accounting & Finance for Non-Financial Managers. The foundation. The vocabulary of finance, how accounting information is created, the basic financial statements, managing liabilities, and the fundamentals of financial planning.

Step 2: Cash is King. The lifeblood. Why cash matters even when a business looks profitable on paper, how to manage and project cash flow, and how to build and monitor department budgets.

Step 3: Financial Analysis & Planning for Non-Financial Managers. The finish line. Analyzing financial statements, costs, and profitability, using ratios and benchmarks, and evaluating decisions so you can present a business case with confidence.

You don't need to become an accountant. You need to understand what the numbers are telling you, and make better decisions because of it.

Understanding your numbers is what makes you a stronger leader.

Hi, I'm Sharon.

Your instructor, and your biggest cheerleader.

I spent 10 years in corporate accounting, and I've now been teaching for 22 years through continuing education and workforce development programs at universities and colleges. I've spent my career on both sides of the numbers: producing them and explaining them to the people who rely on them.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Education from Temple University, a Pennsylvania Department of Education teaching certificate in Accounting, and I'm a Certified Online Instructor.

But here's what matters most: so many smart, capable professionals walk in convinced they're "not a numbers person." Most of them are wrong. They just never had it explained clearly.

That's my job. Plain English, step by step, until it clicks.

Questions? Good. Here Are the Answers.

  • Do I need a finance background?

Not at all. The program starts with the vocabulary of finance and builds from there. It's designed for people who've never had financial training.

  • I'm not a manager yet. Is this for me?

Yes. Financial literacy is one of the skills that gets people promoted. Learning it now puts you ahead when the opportunity comes.

  • Do I have to take the courses in order?

It's recommended. Each course builds on the one before it, so taking them in order gives you the clearest picture of how it all fits together.

  • Is this a professional certification?

No. This is a Certificate Program, and you'll earn a Certificate of Completion. It's designed to give you real, practical understanding you can use right away.

  • How does the payment plan work?

You pay $222.50 today and $222.50 next month. Same $445 total. No extra fees.

  • What is the Bookkeeping Community?

It's a place for students across all of my courses and Certificate Programs to ask questions, share what they're working on, and connect with others learning the same material. It's included with your purchase.

  • Can I buy just one course instead?

Yes, each course is available individually for $185. But the full program saves you $110, includes the payment plan option, and since the courses build on each other, the bundle is the way to go.
