This is where you learn bookkeeping for real — not just how to click buttons in QuickBooks.
Because data entry isn't bookkeeping. Understanding your numbers is.
I spent 10 years in corporate accounting — the kind of environment where the numbers actually mattered and the stakes were real. I've seen what happens when people don't understand the fundamentals. I've cleaned up the messes.
Then I started teaching and I never looked back.
I've spent 22 years teaching, in the classroom and online. First teaching business and accounting to high school students. Now teaching my own bookkeeping, accounting, and finance courses to adult learners and working professionals through continuing education and workforce development programs at universities and colleges across the region.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Education from Temple University, a Pennsylvania Department of Education teaching certificate in Accounting, and I'm a Certified Online Instructor.
My approach hasn't changed in 22 years: manual system first, software second. Before you touch QuickBooks, you need to understand what QuickBooks is actually doing. Once you get that, the software becomes a tool — not a crutch.
I don't teach people to click buttons. I teach people to think like bookkeepers.
Now I'm bringing that same curriculum — the exact same courses taught at universities and colleges — directly to you. No middleman. Just the real thing.
Most people learn accounting software. They enter transactions, run reports, and hope for the best. But if you don't understand what's actually happening behind those entries — you're not doing bookkeeping. You're doing data entry.
There's a difference. A big one.
A bookkeeper who doesn't understand the process can't catch errors. A business owner who can't read their own financials can't make good decisions. And an aspiring bookkeeper who only knows software? They're one software update away from being lost.
The fix isn't more software training. It's understanding the system first.
That's what I teach.
You're a working bookkeeper — but nobody ever formally trained you. You learned on the job. You know how to enter transactions but you're not always sure why. You want to understand what's actually happening behind the scenes so you can do your job with confidence.
You're a business owner who needs to understand your own numbers. You hired a bookkeeper — or you're doing it yourself — but you can't really oversee what's happening. You want to know enough to ask the right questions, catch mistakes, and make smart financial decisions.
You own or are starting a small business and you know you need this. You're not planning to become a bookkeeper. But flying blind with your finances is a risk you can't afford. You want a solid foundation so you always know where your business stands.
You want to start your own bookkeeping business. You're looking for real, professional training — not just a software tutorial. You want the knowledge and the Certificate of Completion to work with clients confidently and build something sustainable.
My curriculum covers four distinct areas of accounting and finance with each one built around the same philosophy: understand the system first, then the software makes sense.
